Dewey:  The Small-Town Cat Who Touched The World (Myron, Vicki: 2008)

This is the story of Dewey Readmore Books who was rescued from a freezing book drop one dreary morning and lived practically his whole life in Spencer, Iowa Library.  It is a wonderfully moving story of a cat, a librarian and the town of Spencer, Iowa.  If you like cats, libraries or both (like me) you will love this book.  Follow the links to find out more about Spencer Library and Dewey on his Website and his Facebook page.

Death From The Skies!:  These Are The Ways The World Will End . . . (Plait, Philip C.:)

Facinating book for those interested in space the universe and everything!  The book goes through the multiple ways the earth will end . . . asteroids to black holes, our own sun and alien attacks all (or most of which) will be long after we are dead.  We are all made of Stardust.  To read more by Philip Plait go to his blog Bad Astronomy.

Welcome To Obamaland:  I Have Seen Your Future And It Doesn’t Work (Delingpole, James:2009)

This is a good read for those of you out there who think that socialized medicine and for that matter the rest of the US  Government is a good idea (and if you think it is not socialism then you need to look up the word).  James Delingpole relates his experiences of how socialism works in England.  It doesn’t.  I have lived there and the NHS (National Health Service) is a literal joke.  This book is filled with delightful tangents that will scare your socks off.

The Audacity Of Hope:  Thoughts Of Reclaiming The American Dream (Obama, Barack:2006)

This is the one book I did not finnish reading so far this year.  It reads like a primer on why Obama should be voted for President (published in 2006).  He bashes conservatives by name and traces lightly over any liberal follies barely (mostly not at all) mentioning specific names.  I could not stand it.  This is only for the strong willed or Democrat hardliner.

If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans (Coulter, Ann:2007)

Guilty:  Liberal “Victims” And Their Assault On America (Coulter, Ann:2008)

Conversely, I can not get enough of Ann Coulter (Call me whatever you like-just don’t call me collect).  She has one of the top driest senses of humor I have seen.  Most (if not all) of what she says is with tongue firmly planted in cheek.  Check out these book for a good laugh (either way).  She makes sure she names names on both sides of the fence and even the fence sitters!  And no I do not completely agree with her on everything, but even I am entitled to my own opinion.
